Measurement of the isometric muscular strength
With the help of the multi-functional equipment for analysis and training
„m3 DIAGNOS professional” by SCHNELL Trainingsgeräte GmbH, the
isometric muscular strength of the quadriceps (musculus quadriceps femoris)
is measured by the torque in Newtonmeter.
Why is the muscular strength of the quadriceps measured?
The quadriceps muscles play an important role as a support for weight bearing
activities where lower body parts are involved in movement. These muscles are
not only accountable for movements such as standing and sitting but they also
function as a control for the knee joint when standing, walking and running.
The load impact of everyday activities is also absorbed by these muscles.
A sufficient muscular strength of the quadriceps serves therefore, as an important protection for the knee joint and prevents a limitation of mobility in everyday activities.
