The abbreviation „HämArthro“ stands for a disease often found in combination with haemophilia - haemophilic arthropathy.

Symptoms for haemophilic arthropathy are pathological joint disorders caused by a bleeding in the joint, which can later lead to its damage. These pathological disorders not only affect the joint, but also have a range of adverse effects on the whole musculoskeletal System and on the quality of life of the affected person.

HämArthro is an interdisciplinary study which focuses on specific consequences of haemophilic arthropathy from the viewpoint of sports medicine, orthopaedics, biomechanics and psychologies. This study is done on the basis of qualified diagnosis tools, thus helping us offer a broad and differentiated evaluation of the joint and muscle status. Moreover, it should be determined how various therapy regimes (prophylaxis or on-demand-therapy) influence the course of haemophilic arthropathy and its specific consequences.
